🧒 AI Private Tutor for Kids

Elementary, My Dear

Available Domain: TotTutor.ai

👤 Source: Andrew Miklas (YC Partner, PagerDuty co-founder) put this in YC's Fall 2026 Requests for Startups.

Problem:

  • Our education system isn’t in a great spot right now. Today, only about a third of US 4th graders read at a proficient level, and a teacher with 25+ kids can give your struggling 6-year-old just a few minutes of individual attention per day.

  • Private tutoring meanwhile is the best way to learn. Bloom's famous "2 Sigma" study found tutored students outperform classroom students by two full standard deviations. But at $50-80/hour, hiring a private tutor is a luxury reserved for the few. It’s time to use AI to solve this. Here's the idea.

Solution:

  • A voice-first AI tutor for ages 4-8 that teaches reading, writing, and arithmetic at private-tutor quality.

  • A playful 15-minute assessment builds a live model of exactly where your child is - phonics, number sense, attention span. Every lesson is a story generated on the fly starring your kid's current obsession (dinosaurs, diggers, princesses).

  • Parents get a weekly "tutor's note" in plain English - what clicked, what didn't, what to practise at dinner. Sold as a supplement that makes teachers more effective, not a replacement.

💡 The Half Baked Take: As a YC Request for Startup, people are going to pile into this idea. But the more people we have helping kids to learn, the better.

🤖 Your Team’s Calls Are Already Full of Data You’re Not Using

Every sales call your team takes has a transcript, a tone, and a moment where the deal was won or lost, you just don't have time to review it.

Dialpad on T-Mobile for Business turns calls, texts and meetings into one AI-powered stream: auto summaries and action items after every call, real-time coaching for reps still learning the pitch, and scorecards that show exactly where a call went sideways.

Plans start at $25.

📖 HubSpot's 5-Minute Playbook for Ranking in ChatGPT

AEO is doing for LLMs what SEO did for Google, and the founders who move first take the citations.

HubSpot's playbook covers four plays: get cited by LLMs, convert that traffic, get in front of investors and attract talent. Real tactics, real data, built to actually use.

🔍️ Everything Else from Today

🛠️ AI Tool: Claude Security now scans your codebase for vulnerabilities before you commit, straight from the terminal. Great for any vibe coded apps.

📚 Must-Read: Check out this four-step method for finding problems people will actually pay to fix. Most startup founders get this totally wrong.

📺 Must-Watch: Mark Pincus (Zynga founder) just broke down why the founders who struggle least tend to win. This goes hard.

🧬 Science Corner: This tongue-controlled trackpad went on sale across the US yesterday. Yes, really. Love this innovation!
