📸 Social Network for Shared Memories
Common Ground
👤 Source: Bill Kerr (Athyna CEO & Open Source CEO) shared an idea for a platform inspired by ancestry.com. We dig it.
❌ Problem:
Ancestry.com is a fascinating business. They’ve managed to build a billion-dollar company on 60 billion records and 3 million subscribers, all based around our study of our ancestors and family trees.
You get a sense for how interconnected we all are. Which begs the question…if you can do this for our ancestors, why can’t we do something similar for our own memories? Here's the idea.
✅ Solution:
A social app where users create their own family trees of memories and over time they can link to and unlock other people’s memory trees.
You join the app and over time post images, videos, voice recordings and more, tagging where and when they happened in your life.
Over time, as you add more and more memories, you see how they overlap with other users’ memory trees. Because every memory carries a place and a date, it starts surfacing strangers whose lives overlapped yours. Same festival, same football match, same restaurant. Very cool.
🧑💻 Prototyping: Google AI Studio Demo | Remix this Build
💡 The Half Baked Take: This could work well, but you gotta start off small. Own one festival, one university year, etc. completely before trying to go super wide with this.

📈 Trends-with-Benefits: Pieter Levels just broke down a trend he’s seeing with indie hackers of late. It’s not good news unfortunately…
📚 Must-Read: Zuck just wrote about why he believes the “AI future is for everyone“. He’s a big player in this, definitely worth a read.
🎧️ Must-Listen: Elon Musk just gave his clearest AI timeline yet in under 10 minutes. I wonder if he’ll be right…
📺 Must-Watch: NVIDIA nearly went under. Then Jensen bought three textbooks at Fry's, which completely turned the business around. Unreal.
