👤 Source: Jeff Weinstein (Product Lead at Stripe) recently asked whether a Google Trends for Twitter exists yet. This is right up our alley.
❌ Problem:
I’m obsessed with trends. In fact, if you’re an OG Half Baked reader you might remember an old layout of this newsletter had a full, dedicated “trends with benefits” section where we broke down newly emerging trends we almost always found on Google Trends.
Today though, I get most of my insights on what’s trending or not from X. Which led Jeff Weinstein to ask a great question - why isn’t there a Google Trends equivalent for X? Great question. Here's the idea.
✅ Solution:
A search box that returns a mention-volume chart for any phrase, cashtag or handle on X, going back years. Compare five terms side by side exactly like Google Trends, with a share-of-conversation line so you're seeing real growth and not just platform growth.
Semantic clustering instead of exact-match keywords, so "vibe coding", "vibecoding" and "I just let Claude write it" roll into one line. Then slice it by follower tier, sentiment and geography to see whether it's 400 founders in a bubble or actual humans.
